Frustrated by wife’s addiction

March 19th, 2009

So frustrating when the people around me don’t do what I want them to do. My wife clearly needs some sort of drug treatment but she just won’t listen to reason or look at the obvious problems she’s creating with her behavior.

I’ve looked into alcohol rehab centers since they all deal with prescription pill abuse as well and they highly recommend inpatient rehab as the most effective approach to combating addiction but getting my wife to go to one of these programs is a totally different kind of combat.

I know  enough about living with a pill abuser to know that she needs to make this decision on her own but also have heard that interventions help and just want my family back they way we used to be. How can I love her when she seems to be bent on taking down everything around her?  When do I say enough is enough? We have two small children and I don’t want them to grow up in this environment.

Please pray with me that she asks for help sooner than later.
